Artist Statement
Much of what I create is symbolic and refectory of nature which makes a hybridity and fusion of energy on the art realm. My conceptual influences come from the indigenous peoples but also directly influenced from what is happening on our planet today. It is though the understanding of many ethic traditions that we can learn to enrich our lives. It is the tools and concepts of the past that I adapt for today. It’s something that I call “Contemporary Talismans”. By learning from the past, living in the present, and preparing for the future is how we make our lives flourish instead of mere surviving. That latter statement transcends within the veins of my creations. Every artisan is encouraged by the powers that be to include a statement about themselves and their work. After pondering upon this concept, I am inclined to agree with Jean Cocteau when he said, "An artist cannot speak about his art any more than a plant can discuss horticulture".
